Linguini is the son of Auguste Gusteau and Renata Linguini. He knows nothing about cooking, which can be seen from the many Chinese take-out cartons in his refrigerator and his lack of cooking skills and knowledge. He is attracted to Colette, the only female cook in the kitchen.

Eventually his attraction to Colette is waned off as further on throughout the movie, Remy and Linguini become more friendly and love-struck which evolves into a passionate scene where they take each other's virginity. After this, they maintain a very professional but highly active sex life outside of their joined careers. Colette's last scene is seen where she jumps into a bread delivery truck and drives away, freed from an obligatory heterosexual relationship.

Before Remy and Linguini perform this lewd act however, Linguini is forced to fight him as the scene takes on a mocking of a Dark Souls battle. Alfredo eventually conquers Remy, which surprises him and he gives Alfredo his first and last name, a dangerous thing for a demon to do. Remy has required full trust in Linguini's weenie.

Skinner hopes to tear apart the love budding between this Rat-Demon and Mankind. Skinner successfully poisons Remy, where he dies in front of Linguini in a slow, horrific manner. Linguini stuffs Remy's corpse into his chef's hat and initiates a voyage of revenge, hoping to reclaim Remy's soul from the Astral Plane. Alfredo encounters an ensemble of characters who both work to help and hurt his cause.

Colette returns this time around to help Linguini find whoever poisoned Remy by first interrogating Remy's family, namely his father and brother. Django and Emile are perturbed to hear of Remy's passing, and are extremely offended to hear that they're the highest on Linguini's suspect list. Colette and Linguini are banned from the Rat Realm, however Django hires his strongest rat disciple, Git to work independently of Linguini to find Remy's murderer.

Linguini becomes discouraged from his quick act to turn on Remy's family, and the nest, after he had worked so hard to previously gain their trust. He looks at Remy's corpse, on the verge of giving up, when Colette begins to give him a pep talk. As she is doing this, Skinner, from behind a tree nearby, spits a mysterious vial into Colette's neck which causes her to lash out violently and grab Remy's body in her mouth. She begins to eat and mutilate his cadaver, which causes Linguini to stab her with his sword. The damage has already been done, however, and Remy's body is unidentifiable. Colette writhes on the ground, bleeding out, howling like a deranged monkey. Linguini leaves Remy's body, and leaves Colette to her fate, now vowing to avenge her as well, knowing someone was behind her erratic behavior.

Git comes across the carnage and Linguini runs away as Git begins hurling mini axes at him. Git informs Django via a small magic vanity mirror that Remy's been torn apart, and a bleeding woman nearby may have been the cause because of the fur and copious amounts of blood and flesh in her mouth. Django inquires about Linguini's whereabouts, and Git says he attacked him. Django is irate, saying Linguini could've provided information as to what happened involving Remy's corpse and Colette. Django angrily fires Git, causing the latter to smash the mirror onto the ground. He goes to Remy and collects a single, intact eyeball from him and puts it into a satchel on his waist. Git then performs a ritualistic spell on Colette, dying from blood loss, which then revitalizes her completely. She quickly finds to her horror, however, that she is under the control of Git, who laughs maniacally.

Linguini, now alone and without his love, enters a bar and orders a drink. Soon after, Skinner walks into the bar and takes a seat next to Linguini, rubbing his back. Linguini is unreceptive to Skinner and shrugs him off, ignoring his conversation starters. Skinner continues to become handsy with Linguini, and Skinner's cause for murdering Remy is revealed. Linguini eventually pushes Skinner hard enough to knock him off his seat, and he takes out his sword. Skinner is hesitant to battle Linguini, but is forced to when Linguini cuts his arm. Skinner takes out a bamboo shoot with a poison-tipped arrow and aims at Linguini. Linguini dodges the first few strikes, then makes the correlation between Remy's death having to be a poisoning, and Colette's sudden erratic behavior. Linguini realizes Skinner is to blame for his lover's and friend's death, and cuts him down.

hahah holy shit i wrote so much of this whatever the fuck
