A Bug's Life
"Three grasshoppers at the bar don't want to fly back to Ant Island. "When it starts to rain, we might as well be sucking bug spray," one says. They send Molt to talk to Hopper, who squashed the suggestion and the threesome under an avalanche of grain."
They believed that it was pointless to return to Ant Island, as they already had enough food and the rains could come any day, and convinced Molt to give this idea to Hopper as his own, assuming that he would get beaten for such an idea if he didn't like it. When Molt informs Hopper and receives a sharp reply, he tells Hopper that they gave him the idea. Hopper then extracts payback by burying Axle and Loco in a large pile of grain, killing them both, although during the scene where Flik and the Blueberries are sneaking up the tree to the fake bird, two grasshoppers are seen that look like Axle and Loco (might be a editing mistake).
- A deleted scene reveals one of either Axel or Loco's hands limply passing out after they are buried in grains, confirming their deaths in the process.
- The workprint for A Bug's Life (found here) reveals a short shot of either Axle or Loco's hand out of the grains.
