Buzz Lightyear is one of the human main characters in the Pixar film, Lightyear. He is the inspiration for the Buzz Lightyear action figure from the Toy Story franchise.

Trivia

• While this is the character that inspired the toy in-verse, director of Lightyear, Angus MacLane claimed that the toy version of Buzz was based on an in-verse Buzz Lightyear cartoon yet unseen to the audience, not the movie itself.
• This is the first and currently only incarnation of Buzz to reveal his hair.
• It's unknown how Buzz is able to fully retract his helmet inside his body suit as the helmet looks like it can't fit inside with his body in the way.
• He doesn't get his toy counterpart's identical-looking signature space ranger suit until the end of the film.
