Cars is a promotional CD of the score to Cars. It was given to voting members of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for the Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music consideration.
Although it contains more of the score than the commercial soundtrack album, it does not contain the complete score.

- This CD is different from the commercial soundtrack album in multiple ways. On the commercial soundtrack album:
- "Opening Race" is shortened, and the guitar overdub at the beginning is omitted.
- "Lightning's Lost" and "Into Town" are shortened and combined into one track, titled "McQueen's Lost".
- "Customers", "Doc's Challenge", "The Race" and "Spin Out" are shortened and combined into one track, titled "Dirt Is Different".
- The first part of "New Road" is omitted.
- "Tractor Tipping" and "Frank" are combined into one track, which retains the former's title.
- "McQueen and Sally" is shortened, and the first part is omitted.
- "Doc Racing" is omitted.
- "Piston Cup Pageantry" is titled "Pre-Race Pageantry".
- "The Final Race" is shortened and titled "The Piston Cup".
- "Guido's Turn" and "An Empty Cup" are combined into one track, titled "The Big Race".
