In Cars 2, Sarge asks the British Army to help him find Mater. They later appear at the end to arrest the lemons, when Josh reveals his grandfather to be one of Sarge's friends.

- His name is similar to the name of the film's additional story supervisor, Josh Cooley, who also provides his voice.[citation needed]
- He is a 2009 camouflage-colored Land Rover Range Rover Series II.
- There is an error on the back of the package that features Josh Coolant in the 2021 die-cast line that says As Seen In Cars 3, but the character actually appears in Cars 2.
