Franklin Wendell "Frank" Welker (born March 12, 1946) is a veteran American actor who, for most of his career, has specialized as a voice actor. He is best known for his role as Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo franchise since it began in 1969 with Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?. He's also done the voice of both Fred and Scooby-Doo since 2002 with What's New Scooby-Doo?. As of 2014, due to the death of Casey Kasem, the original voice of Shaggy Rogers, Welker is the only original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? voice actor still with the Scooby-Doo franchise. He is also the voices of Mr. Plotz, Ralph the Guard, Runt, Buttons, and others on the Warner Bros series Animaniacs, Lord Nibbler on Futurama, Ray Stantz and Slimer on The Real Ghostbusters, George on Curious George, and is the voice of Megatron and Soundwave in the Transformers franchise; specifically Transformers G1 and Transformers: Prime.

He is also known for imitating various animal sounds and has been an important piece in Pixar-related media such as Bullseye and Buster in the Toy Story franchise,[1][2] Emperor Zurg's grubs on Buzz Lightyear of Star Command[2] and the voice of Zurg at the Walt Disney World version of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.[2]
