Fred Pacer is a character in Cars 2.

"Fred misses his early days growing up in Kenosha. Back then, he didn't have to worry about being the toughest Lemon on the block, or where he would get his spare parts. All he had to think about was kicking back and relaxing with fellow Pacers and Gremlins. As time went on, the factory parts dried up in his hometown, and Fred had to look for new adventures in faraway places. That led him to sign up for work on a mysterious oil rig in the deep Pacific. As long as the pay is steady and the parts don't dry up, Fred's not complaining."

Being a recolor of Acer, Fred is a yellow Pacer car who is part of the Pacer family that works with Professor Z. In the film, Fred was seen in the background of the scene where Professor Z tests his camera weapon. He was also seen fighting Finn McMissile in a back alley in Tokyo. He was then thrown into an elevator by McMissile, that violently lifts and crashed into its roof, possibly crushing Fred. Later, as Mater leaves, Finn, watching above, is next to Fred, implying that Finn moved Fred. What happened to him afterwards, and whether he died are both unknown.

Personality

Like all the other Lemons, Fred Pacer is cold-hearted and was willing to commit murder just to achieve any goals in becoming rich. He was willing to kill secret agents and even innocent civilians when they become caught in the Lemons' plot. Fred was shown to be strong and tough as he restrained Finn McMissile and attempted to fight him which led him to underestimate the spy's skills.

Trivia

• Fred's license plate says "FSHBWL". The same number was used by:
  • Acer, Cruz Besouro, Mel Dorado, Kimura Kaizo and Carlo Maserati.
• Fred's last name "Pacer" is the name of his model.
• Fred is a 1975 AMC Pacer.
• The inscriptions on his die-cast version's tires read "Road Hug - Rack and Minion", which is the same on Acer's tires.
• Fred's diecast packages refer to him as both "Fred Pacer" and "Fred Fisbowski".
• It's unknown if Fred was crushed to death by the elevator or was simply unconscious. Fred showed no signs of damage from being crushed when shown on the roof next to Finn.
