George Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008) performed the voice of Fillmore in Cars and Mater and the Ghostlight. Carlin passed away on June 22, 2008 from heart failure. Lloyd Sherr now replaces him.

He was most well known for his stand-up comedy which he performed for nearly five decades, as well as his role as Rufus in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and as the narrator of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends in its third and fourth seasons (and redubbed versions of the first two).
