The Import Racers[1], also known as the Delinquent Road Hazards and the Tuners, are a group of highly modified street racers that cause mischief wherever they go. They consist of four cars: Boost, DJ, Wingo, and Snot Rod.

Cars[]

While cruising through the interstate one night, the gang catch Mack struggling to stay awake on the way to California and amuse themselves by putting him to sleep with DJ's soft melodies and nudging him onto the rumble strips along the shoulder of the road. The resulting vibration causes Mack's trailer door to open and a sleeping McQueen to roll out of the trailer. When the chronically-sniffly Snot Rod sneezes, Mack is startled awake and drives away, leaving the still-sleeping McQueen behind, thus making the Tuner Cars mostly responsible for McQueen's disappearance.

The gang ultimately gets their comeuppance during the end credits of the movie when they make the mistake of speeding in Radiator Springs, causing them to be apprehended by Sheriff for reckless driving and put in the impound lot. It is then later revealed that the Sheriff and Doc Hudson sentenced them to use Bessie to repave a road (the same punishment that they gave McQueen earlier).

Video Games[]

In the Cars video game, a specific level relating to these characters is called "Delinquent Road Hazards", leading many fans to refer to their group by this name. They later appear in the short Tokyo Mater, with the exception of Snot Rod.

They also appear in Cars 2: The Video Game, as DLC characters.

Physical appearances[]

Boost (purple neon/silver Nissan Silvia (S15) with a custom body kit resembling JGTC cars, voiced by Jonas Rivera), Devon "DJ" Montegomery Johnston III (blue customized/slammed Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker three-door SUV, voiced by E.J. Holowicki), Wingo (green and purple 2004 Acura RSX, voiced by Adrian Ochoa), and Snot Rod (orange Dodge Challenger with a blower, voiced by Lou Romano).

Personalities[]

They like to intentionally cause trouble on the highway and drive at high speeds. They also seem to enjoy rap music as DJ played rap music to them while speeding along the Interstate.
