Katherine "Kathy" Ringgold is a film editor who performed the voice of Kathy in Finding Nemo[1][2] and Finding Dory. She also did additional voices in Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles.[3]
Trivia
- Bill Kinder, who's in charge of hiring the editorial staff at Pixar, was Kathy's hiring manager many years ago at another company. She stayed in contact with him over the years and Bill eventually hired her for the second time. For the first 8 or 9 months in Pixar, Kathy worked in the middle of the night. Her shift was from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.[2]
- Kathy's favorite part of her editing job is helping out to make thing funny. She loves editing dialouge and getting the timing right and making people laugh.[2]
- Katherine's favorite character is Kathy from Finding Nemo.[2]
- Katherine occadionally does voices at Pixar — some just temporary before the real actor is hired and some that actually make it into the movies, like Kathy. She's temporarily been a very calm computer voice, a screaming child, a very strict and controlling fish, a screaming fish, various screaming women, a selfish queen and a woman in outer space who finds love.[2]
