"Welcome to Sunnyside, folks!"
—Lotso greeting Andy's toys

Lotso (short for Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear) was the main antagonist of Toy Story 3. He was the commanding leader, officer, and Mafia boss at Sunnyside Daycare and an old, jumbo, extra-soft teddy bear with a pink and white plush body and a velvety purple nose.

Lotso also smelled like strawberries, and his henchmen were revealed to be Twitch, Chunk, Sparks, Stretch, and Big Baby in the end.

Toy Story 3

Lotso was first introduced greeting Woody and the gang, and then showed them around Sunnyside.

When the toys decided to escape, Lotso turned from friendly to evil. That was when Lotso sent his minions to see to it that the gang can't escape, and then turned the daycare into a toy prison.

Near the end of the film, Lotso was also killed in one of the garbage trucks, but Woody and Buzz saved him. Then, Lotso pressed the button, making the toys be killed instead. However, they were saved just in time by the Aliens, and Lotso got strapped to the front of the truck, and was going to a new home, and he wasn't going back to Sunnyside at all.

Trivia

  • Lotso was based on the popular toy of the same name.
  • Lotso was first spotted next to Dee's bed in Up when Carl's house flies past her window outside, and it was later confirmed that he would be a new character in Toy Story 3.
  • In the Lego set version of the truck scene, it was revealed that Lotso trapped the toys in one of the garbage trucks.
