Mr. Konishi is an unseen character from Toy Story 2. He is the owner of the Konishi Toy Museum in Tokyo, Japan, where the Woody's Roundup Gang was supposed to be sold.
Mr. Konishi is eager to acquire the entire Woody's Roundup franchise to showcase as an exhibit at the museum. Al's Toy Barn owner Al McWhiggin learns of this and over the years has collected every piece of Woody's Roundup merchandise, often by dishonest means. In Toy Story 2, he finds Woody, who accidentally ended up in the yard sale he was attending at Andy's House. After stealing Woody and having him fixed and cleaned up, Al finalizes his deal with Mr. Konishi, who tells him told that he could pay Al any amount he desires.
While the bag is going through airport transport, Woody and friends escape the airport and return home. Al then finds out that the Roundup gang is missing, causing Mr. Konishi to furiously call off the deal. As a result of this, Al's Toy Barn begins to suffer some serious financial troubles.
