Remember Me is one of the songs from Coco. It is a song performed by Hector for Mama Coco before he left both her and Imelda to pursue music. Later, after Ernesto de la Cruz poisons Hector with a drink, he stole credit for the song and made it one of his signature performances. However, when Miguel confronts Ernesto backstage at his Sunrise Spectacular, the deceased Riveras film their conversation in front of the audience, exposing the true story to the entire Land of the Dead. When Miguel returns to the Land of the Living, he performs the song for Mama Coco, who soon remembers the song, and then Hector, keeping her late father alive in the Land of the Dead. A year after these events, Hector is now known and remembered in the Land of the Living as the original songwriter for Remember Me, his guitar, and the rest of his songs and letters he wrote for Mama Coco.
Lyrics[]
Remember me
Though I have to say goodbye
Remember me
Don't let it make you cry
For even if I'm far away I hold you in my heart
I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart
Remember me
Though I have to travel far
Remember me
Each time you hear a sad guitar
Know that I'm with you the only way that I can be
Until you're in my arms again
Remember me
