Riders in the Sky is a Western music and comedy group whose style appeals to children, hence why it is sometimes considered to be a children's band. They have written and performed music for major motion pictures, including "Woody's Roundup" from Toy Story 2 and a Pixar short, For the Birds.
The band has won two Grammy Awards for Best Musical Album for Children; both awards are for albums that are associated with Pixar films. Woody's Roundup: A Rootin' Tootin' Collection of Woody's Favorite Songs won the first award in 2001 and Monsters, Inc. Scream Factory Favorites won the second award in 2003. The band has performed their cover versions of two songs originally written and composed by Randy Newman: "You've Got a Friend in Me" and "If I Didn't Have You", which are included in their respective albums, along with the instrumental versions of the two songs. The background music for For the Birds (released theatrically with Monsters, Inc.) is also included in the band’s "Monsters, Inc." album.
