Ron Tompkins is a main character in Toy Story OF TERROR!
Ron is the manager of the Sleep Well Motel. He has an anxious personality, with a tendency to laugh nervously. He loves iguanas, as evidenced by his eBid username, iguanaluvr75, and the fact that he owns one. He steals toys and other objects from his customers using his pet iguana Mr. Jones, and illegally sells them on the internet.
Toy Story of TERROR![]
When Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Mr. Pricklepants, Mr. Potato Head, Rex and Trixie are captured, Ron also has several other toys in his possession. He is thrilled when he gets high winning bids for Woody and Jessie, and proceeds to send them. However, they both escape, and Jessie exposes his scheme while revealing to Bonnie that her toys are in his possession. When he is caught with Bonnie's toys, Bonnie's mother is troubled, and later calls the police.
During the credits, two policemen arrive, and ask Ron if he is the manager. Panicking, Ron nervously tells them that he is not. Saying that he will get the manager, he goes into his office and out the back door. He attempts to steal the police car, however, in his panic, he crashes into the motel's sign, which falls on the car. He leaves the smashed police car and runs off, and one of the officers simply alerts the police that they "got a runner."
Deleted Scenes[]
The filmmakers thought it important to explain Ron's motivation to steal, but all scenes pertaining to this were finally cut. These would have revealed Ron was "raising money" to get a dream boat from "Bob's Boatyard", his neighbor. The sales of Woody and Jessie finally bring him enough money, and he immediately goes on to order the boat. In an alternate ending, it is towed to Ron precisely as he is arrested. Upon seeing this, the driver freaks out and drives backwards in a hurry, getting the boat accidentally smashed to pieces by a passing truck in the process, to Ron's dismay.[1]
In another deleted scene, it is revealed that Al McWhiggin is the buyer of Woody and Jessie, coincidentally buying the same toys which he had acquired in Toy Story 2.
