Character vs the lamp[]

For these Luxo lamp characters, should we not state cameo appearances in the "Appeared in" section, unless it was the actual character? The cameos are not really of the character, but rather a lamp that looks the same or similar. This is similar to Lightning McQueen being seen at Sunnyside Daycare...just a toy that looked like him, but was not his character, so it wasn't really a cameo. Or do we even split off the Luxo characters from the lamp itself...sort of like the Pizza Planet Truck and Todd? - RaptorWiki (Ryan) 15:44, April 17, 2016 (UTC)

You're saying this is similar to the Ball appearing in films, right? With Ball, yes, those are marked as appearances, so I agree, the "cameos" listed on the Luxo, Sr. page should be marked as appearances. --Jeff (talk) 21:55, April 17, 2016 (UTC)
No, I'm saying this is not the same as the Ball, since the Ball isn't a character. Luxo, Jr. and Sr. are characters. The lamps making "cameos" are not these characters. Just as Lightning McQueen does not make a cameo in Toy Story 3, for example. His "appearances" are not him at all, just a likeness of him. Same in this case with the Luxos. - RaptorWiki (Ryan) 22:31, April 17, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, not thinking too clearly. I think what I was trying to say is that I agree with you, that these appearances shouldn't be labeled cameos. I see someone just made an edit to Luxo, Sr., putting these appearances in the character template. These should get removed.
You bring up a good point about having a separate "Luxo lamp" page for all the appearances. I'm starting to like this idea. Would clean up the character pages nicely. If you don't get to it I'll try making a new page in the next couple days. --Jeff (talk) 13:01, April 18, 2016 (UTC)
