Tex is a robot character who, while not Pixar feature or short film, he was created by John Lasseter for the THX sound system by Lucasfilm, which is currently owned by Razer. THX had partnered with and certified Pixar films from 1996 through 2006. He appeared in four THX trailers. The first was introduced with the theatrical release of Independence Day on July 3, 1996. A second trailer released in 1997, which was introduced with the theatrical release of Monsters, Inc. in 2001, followed by a third in 2006 preceding theatrical showings of Cars.
