Thomasville is a small town that appears in Cars 3, with its main claim to fame being the hometown of Doc Hudson.

When looking for Smokey, Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez happen upon a sign for Thomasville Speedway bearing Doc Hudson's image. While taking laps at the speedway, Lightning and Cruz encounter Smokey. He later takes McQueen and Cruz to the Cotter Pin Bar to meet Louise Nash, River Scott and Junior Moon.

  Thomasville is primarily based on North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, located in a region known as "The Moonshine Capital of America" and home to the North Wilkesboro Speedway, one of the first NASCAR tracks.
• The Thomasville Speedway also may have taken some inspiration from Occoneechee Speedway in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where Louise Smith (the inspiration for Louise Nash) made her racing debut.
• Thomasville may be named after Herb Thomas, a former race car driver who used to drive one of the real Fabulous Hudson Hornets.   

• There is a real city named Thomasville in North Carolina. There is another one in Georgia, but the mountains appearing in the movie bear little resemblance to the flat country around Thomasville, Georgia.
