Thud is a minor character in A Bug's Life. He acts like a bodyguard to the Dissin' Flies. He only makes growling noises.
Personality[]
Thud is a big tough, menacing bug who dares to threaten anyone who's in his way. He seems to be smart and doesn't fall for anything as while the circus bugs do a re-enactment of Robin Hood to get the flies away, Thud touches Slim, who was the "sword", and growls at his face.
A Bug's Life[]
"As the circus bugs bemoan their job loss at a bar, the flies Francis tangled with arrive with backup―a burly bug named thud. Francis acts like Robin Hood with Slim as his sword, but Thud's not fooled. The brawl is on."[2]
While the circus bugs are in the bar, the Dissin' Flies come back with a new pal named Thud. The flies fly and land next to Francis normally while Thud lands hard behind Francis and the small flies. While the flies are teasing Francis with his wings, he punches into his hand, like he's about to punch someone in the face. Then, as Francis and Heimlich act like Robin Hood and Little John, Thud grabs Slim by the neck and makes him look up at the menacing bug.
