Toy Story 3: The Video Game is a Disney Interactive Studios platform video game based on Toy Story 3. The game was released on June 15, 2010 for Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, and DVD/CD-ROM.
Game Play
The Players can Play as Jessie, Buzz, and Woody. Woody can use his pull string to swing across areas. Buzz can Fling Characters across long distances, and Jessie is the most agile and can balance on small platforms. Some Levels require The players to switch between them during the level in order to clear it. Story Mode Consists of Nine Levels and follows the events of the story.
Toy Box Mode
Toy Box mode is an open-world collection of gameplay opportunities where you run around and complete missions, play minigames, or just meander around and create your own fun.Every mission you successfully complete nets you gold. You then use the gold to buy new buildings and inhabitants for your town, such as a haunted house that releases ghosts upon the world that you must then take care of, or a bearded farmer whose lost cows you have to rescue. The buildings can be customized and placed wherever you want, giving your town a personal touch. That extends right on down to the type of people who live in your town.
You can get around by running on foot, jumping on Bullseye , or buying new vehicles (like a toy racecar). The racecars will actually be able to take you to special zones within the world, including special racetracks and skate parks. As you progress through the game you can buy new places to go to Lotso's Garden or Sid's Haunted House. As the sheriff you have to customize and build buildings. You have to defend the town from robbers and other problems in the area. Robbers will run in to the bank then make a run for it and it is your duty to stop it.
Exclusive Features for the PS3
You can Play as Zurg and he will have his own unique missions. He also be able to drive around in his Custom Vehicle. There will also be some Downloadable Minigames in the fall for the Playstation Move.
Trivia
- Hand-in-the-box makes a cameo in the haunted house.
- First time playing through the haunted house, after clearing the 1st room, the song Grim Grinning Ghosts, from the Disney attraction, the Haunted Mansion, can be heard. It plays in a continuous loop until the last room is cleared. Afterwards, the song cannot be heard again.
- Wheezy appears again, along with Bo Peep
- Little Tikes makes a cameo appearance in the game.
- Mr. Potato Head and Mrs. Potato Head strangely do not appear in the game.
- Ken and Barbie neither appear game too, but though Ken's Dreamhouse does appear in the game.
