A Few Things

A few things, especially since this is a "spotlight" wiki. First, you are not a Wikia Helper. I would recommend removing that from your page. I don't know what Wikia does when you are impersonating someone who works for them, but I wouldn't think that they would take it too well. Second, you block users with no expiry for nothing, and don't give them a chance at redemption. With this Wikia Helper issue, if it is not resolved very soon, I will be going to Wikia about it. The second thing is more just a heads up. Have a good day, User:Ajraddatz@WikiMarkupWiki

Ah, well, there is a link to the dif above, and I can give it to you again :) Ajraddatz

Hi, just a follow up to this -- you might not have been aware that "Wikia Helper" is a name given to a group of user rights. We'd appreciate it if you chose another word to describe your role here as I'm sure you don't want to confuse your users. :) Blocking troublesome users is a judgment call admins must make, but please remember to assume good faith and give people polite warnings and a chance to change their ways before blocking indefinitely. Thank you! — Catherine@fandom (talk) 17:59, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I would like to apologize for the relative harshness of my first message. I am sure that there is some way that I could have made it a little bit nicer. Glad that this situation is worked out. Ajraddatz

Videos. Where are they?

Why did you edit out the videos on my page? I liked those videos! >:( --Teridax Prime 01:01, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

Oh. Sorry. Teridax Prime 23:12, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

taking out /wiki from URLs

Hey Jeff, I just wanted you to know about something new that's happening this week. We're testing out a way to improve the way that Google indexes our pages. What this entails is removing the /wiki/ from the URL for every page. So, pixar.wikia.com/wiki/Toy_Story would become pixar.wikia.com/Toy_Story instead. We're looking to test it on a few wikis, including Pixar, starting tomorrow. It won't interrupt anything on the wiki, and the old URLs will automatically redirect of course. Once the switch has been flipped, we'll be recording data for a couple of weeks to see how this affects our traffic, Google rank and other interesting stuff. If you've got any questions, feel free to let me know. Thanks! —Scott (talk) 23:52, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

thanks for welcome

Jeff, I'm not sure I'm doing this right -- this is all new to me.

I wanted the user name davidmdelaney but wikia insists on capitalizing the first letter, which I really don't like. I like DavidMDelaney a little better, so I opened a new account, not knowing how to delete my first one. Can I delete my own previous account?

Are user pages particular to the wiki? If so I probably don't need any user page at all for the Pixar wiki. I don't really even know how I got one. Some accident while I was thrashing around yesterday in my first wiki experience.

If user pages are particular to the wiki, which it seems they are, please free to delete both Davidmdelaney and DavidMDelaney from the Pixar wiki, along with anything else I did there. My interest is in the SOlar Cooking Wiki. I am unlikely to be active in the Pixar wiki. DavidMDelaney 15:52, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Jeff, thanks for the welcome. I was thrashing around a bit yesterday in my first wiki experience. I will be contributing mainly to the SOlar Cooking Archive wiki for the time being. DavidMDelaney 14:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Reply-Up

Ahh, I see. That's kinda irritating, but at least you did what you can. I really want a copy of that book, it looks fantastic, and I really want some Up swag, most importantly the Grape Soda Badge Disney pin, but it's LE300 and currently about $250 on ebay, bah. I'd love to get my hands on the new vinyl figures coming out later this year, probably gonna get those, and some artwork would be nice, but wayyyyy too pricey. I also want to just go ballistic in a Disney store with all the stuff.

I've been checking the mail EVERY DAY for a reply, nothing so far, but it's just now been a week. No harm in checking though, I'm so flipping anxious! I'm happy to help out, Up's a fantastic film, and I can't wait to watch it obsessively on DVD/Blu-Ray. :P

Howdy - Up fix

Hey, glad to help out here!

I kinda noticed something when I was going back over the plot section for Up, cleaning up stuff. The box at the top with the movie info, it says that Bob Peterson wrote the movie. This isn't true. Pete Docter both wrote and directed it, and Bob Peterson co-wrote and co-directed it. Just thought I'd point it out!

AIR HEAD

HEY YOU!!! that stuff is NOT for a childs eyes!!! please remove.

Re: Welcome

Hey Jeff thanks for the welcome. And nice wiki - 500 articles, eh? How long has this wiki been around? Hmmm, my user page doesn't seem to be working your right, I'll look into it.

Thanks,

WHLfan (talk to me!) 05:00, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, you'll probably see me around, but for the most part I'm busy on The Hardy Boys Wiki. September hey? Well the wiki's grown fast in one year. I'm hoping for 500 articles by the end of year one (which is Feb), as well.
Keep up the good work,
WHLfan (talk to me!) 19:50, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Wikia skin

Hey Jeff :)  Sorry I haven't been around in a while. There's lots going on and I regret that I haven't had much time to spend with Pixar. I think you've been doing a great job here, and it's exciting to see all the new people! You may have noticed by now that the skin has changed a little bit and there's some new ad space on article pages. I'm working on a few ideas as to how we can get the pictures and infoboxes to stop getting pushed down under the ads. There are some tests we've been running on Muppet Wiki to make these work better, so when we've got it perfected, I'll show you you what we can up with and we can try to implement them here. Looking forward to Wall-E next week! —Scott (talk) 17:27, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Credits

Hi, Jeff! I hadn't checked this Wiki in ages, so sorry for missing your message but send me an e-mail. I can send you the presskits or credits only, whichever I have, as attachments (many presskits in general were lost when my PC was stolen in January 2007, and for a time Disney included the presskit as three seperate documents, "Production Notes," "Credits," and "About the Cast Crew," but now usually puts it all into one document, with pictures). I just downloaded the Wall*E one myself and am doing some quick partial clean-up on the credits page before bedtime. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 07:43, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Pixar Wiki

Hi there Jeff! I really like the work you've been doing here on the wiki, and I'm glad to see you back. With the new movie coming up soon, we're looking at ways to bring some new folks in here to contribute and write about their favorite Pixar characters and whatever else tickles them at the moment. You seem to have a good knack for wikis, would you be interested in sticking around here more and becoming more involved? Drop me a note on my talk page, or you can email me if you prefer. Hope to talk to you soon! —Scott (talk) 03:24, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey Jeff. I just made you a sysop/admin here, so you should be seeing some new controls. Reverting vandalism is easier now that you have the rollback feature. It shows up when you'r elooking at the difference between article revisions, and user contributions. You can also block vandals by clickingon the block link. What I usually do so that the redlinks associated with their usernames and talk pages don't show up in Recent Changes, is place {{subst:cont}} on both of those pages. That adds a link to show their user contributions. —Scott (talk) 18:51, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, they recently took "infinite" out of the drop-down box, but you can do just like you said: select Other and type in infinite. As for reason, I usually just type "vandal" or whatever's appropriate. Great, you're taking your first steps into a larger world! —Scott (talk) 23:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

re: Composers

Hi! I'm really glad you started pages for the composers. They're such a crucial part of the Pixar team. Don't worry about the style for new pages so much. Part of the wiki process is that an article is always a work in progress. So if you forgot something, someone's always behind you to come in and add more. And that's how you learn all the neat tricks :·) As for using the pipe | in the category code, it tells the software to categorize the article by whatever comes after the pipe so that Michael Giacchino gets alphebtized under G instead of M. There's all kinds of neat tricks, so don't hesitate to ask if something looks befuddling! —Scott (talk) 04:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

re: Talk:Colette

Hi Jeff! When you're editing a page, there's a link to insert the character template below the Save Page button. If you click it while the cursor is in the edit field, you just have to fill in the blank fields. I get most of my images from DVD screenshots using PowerDVD for Windows. —Scott (talk) 02:30, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Welcome

Hi, Jeff -- welcome to the wiki! I'm glad you found it, and you're interested in getting involved.

If you're looking for wiki help, check out the FAQ -- that's a good place to start.

I'd be happy to help you get acclimated... Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Danny (talk) 04:37, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Danny! The only wiki I've worked on was built on MoinMoin. The markup looks similar but I want to look around more before I do much editing.— Jeff (talk) 04:55, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I've never used MoinMoin, but it looks like you've got it so far. Your additions to Ratatouille Awards look great. -- Danny (talk) 06:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I like to say your welcome I had to type all the info I had about pixar like the release date of CARS 2 , Scrapped Monster`s Inc 2 , & the death of Paul Newman also I help many other wikias like Sonic News Network , TDI Wikia & I`m happy to help

Hi

Hi there! I'm just asking if there's other sysops in here. Other than Wikia Staff?

id also like to know where yall got COM-T from. SPARTANF-259 02:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok

ok, well i guess maybe they changed some of the names of the bots when the movie was released. SPARTANF-259 03:23, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

PR#16896

Hi. Can you be a little bit more specific in what you mean by this? Which history are you talking about? The history of the main page i can see going back to 04:37, 25 September 2006

Also, since the problem report system is normally meant for users to report issues to admins, if you as an admin are trying to get help from Wikia, please remember to mark it as "Need staff help" so that we will see it from the list faster.

--Uberfuzzy 05:15, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, did you perhaps have the days set on 3? you can set the number of changes AND the number the days separately. That would make it show upto dec 27 --Uberfuzzy 05:41, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Repeated Article

Hello Dvcnut, I just discovered an article that has two different articles on Pixar Wiki. The article LT for the character L-T from WALL-E is a repeat of the original article which is L-T. Do you think you could delete LT please? We don't need it if it is a repeat of L-T. Thanks. Lightning Storm McQueen (Cars Fanatic) 12:20, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Mini or Minny

Hello, Please see the talk page for "Minny". - RaptorWiki 11:35, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Monsters, Inc. 2

No. This is not a rumor, I just put the Rumors part of the page to say that there were many rumors floating around that have not been confirmed, but there is going to be a Monsters, Inc. 2 in 2013. That much I know.Pizzahut101 02:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

OK. I don't know the official source. My Dad just saw it on the internet. If you want to you can delete the page for now, but I'm pretty sure they're going to do one.Pizzahut101 19:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Redirects to Cars Die-Cast Line

I did that for the cars that aren't plain characters. For example Mater and Lightning McQueen are plain characters but, Spinout McQueen and Blowing Bubbles Mater aren't plain characters. Get it? CarsFanatic321 12:52, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Just an idea

Hi! I just wanted to know if this would be a good idea or not. I think it would be cool if we included a "List of Foreign Names" to each of the Major Film pages, especially since some of the movies have entirely different names in other countries -- for instance, Ratatouille was called "Remy's Delicious Restaurant" in Japan. I just think it would be neat, 'cause it'd help foreign wiki-goers too. Peori 01:15, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

User blogs

I'm a bit confused about the functioning/point of use for user blogs. (Sorry, I couldn't find any Help information on it, I wouldn't bother you if I did...) Peori 00:52, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

A merge

Can I ask that the Charles Muntz page be merged with Charles F. Muntz? There is more writing and detail on the Charles F. Muntz page. Peori 18:39, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't know either. Chances are it's like James P. Sullivan where the middle initial doesn't even stand for anything. Peori 16:19, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Early character pages

I was wondering if it'd be okay if we made pages for characters in the upcoming films that we at least know a little about, like Newt from the titular 2012 film, for instance. And then we can build it up with new details as we learn more, etc. Peori 05:48, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

OK

Dont worry, im used to wikia anyway, but thanks.--123pop99 15:49, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

New Category

I'm trying to create a new category on dogs, so don't delete any more please. Nitromelover 05:40, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
