New Format

I know you've probably been getting a lot of heat about the new format of Wiki, and I'm pretty much no different. Shouldn't there be a choice involved here? Shouldn't they have gathered some opinions. Heck, even if it was default that would still be acceptable, but the fact that the old style seems like it was just done to tick us off. Sorry I'm not editing too much, but that new format just complicates things for no reason. -SlashMan 20:51, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, a lot of people are unhappy about the new format. I'm starting to get more use to it but I don't know what was wrong with the old skin. Hopefully you've seen the links that RaptorWiki posted? Also there are comments on Talk:Pixar Wiki regarding the layout. It would've been nice if they had at least made it an option. --Jeff (talk) 21:52, November 12, 2010 (UTC)
They seem to be considerate after making such a rash decision. But I guess we'll just have to live with it.-SlashMan 04:50, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

The Timeline

I think the timeline is a good idea but it just doesn't have enough information. I kind of think that it needs deleting.SpaghettiCatfish 10:38, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

New Look Wiki 2

I made a new topic because the old one was pretty long. I was just wondering since it doesn't look like theres much we can do to stop the new look wiki ,Pixar Wiki is going to need a major update. Are there any plans?

I don't know if there are any plans. It sounds like we're pretty limited in what can be changed with the new skin. Scarecroe has usually maintained the overall skin for the site. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 00:35, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

This wiki

Huh, I kinda like this wiki. Do you Jeff? - Drilly Dilly 02:03, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Category:Sunnyside Daycare Toys

Hello. I hear you recently deleted categories Andy's Toys and Bonnie's Toys, and there is a similar category that I might consider having you delete it as well: Sunnyside Daycare Toys --Longliveaki 22:08, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

OK, I deleted the category. Now we just need to go through and remove the category from the character pages. --Jeff (talk) 04:21, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

OK, it took a long time, but I removed the category from every single character page. Wooo! ---PixarFan 23:45, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 01:51, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

New Look Wiki?

Do you know where I can complain about the new look wiki? It just looks so BAD! Is it only a temporary thing because the sidebar was a great help. If you don't know what I'm talking about it means my computer stuffed up.

I agree. This looks terrible. Not acceptable. The pages look all screwed up. Can we revert? - RaptorWiki 11:49, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
Yea, I can't say I'm enjoying the new look either. Where the heck is the "History" button on pages? I don't know where you can complain - you could either open a problem (not that I know how to do that right now since I can't find the page), or you could start a new topic on the Pixar Wikia talk page. Otherwise, you could try going to the main Wikia page and seeing if there is a page there. I'll also do some searching, but may not be able to do much until this weekend, I was out of town the past week, got home around 2am this morning. --Jeff (talk) 03:00, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
History is under that black "My Tools" menu in the very bottom right corner. Strange. And it looks like Wikia is making this change permanent. Up until November 3rd, you can change it back to looking like the old version for yourself only, but after that, they're removing that option too. I don't know if this new look can be modified to look better or not. I see a ton of Wikis are leaving Wikia and going elsewhere over this. But Wikia doesn't seem to care. They think this change is in the best interest of Wikia for some reason. If we can modify the layout using any new tools of this new format, it may be ok. But I don't think we can do that, can we? We need more access to do those kinds of things, I think...??? Maybe scarecroe knows? - RaptorWiki 11:04, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
This fixed page width is particularly annoying! - RaptorWiki 11:05, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Take a look at these: & - RaptorWiki 11:12, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
I started a layout feedback section on Talk:Pixar Wiki, please add your comments there. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 04:22, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Tin Toy Christmas - Start Page

I guess this is kind of like the Tractors question but I'm not really sure how to do this. Anyway, I was just thinking. On the start page A Tin Toy Christmas is under category movies but since it was going to be on TV shouldn't it really be under television? I'm not really sure how to change it though.

I don't see the movies category on A Tin Toy Christmas. The only category I see is Unproduced. Maybe I don't understand your question? You're right, since it was going to be a TV special it shouldn't use the Movies category but the TV Series, or maybe Shorts? I'm not sure about it. --Jeff (talk) 03:23, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
I guess category was kind of the wrong word. What I meant to say was that on the Pixar Wiki home page A Tin Toy Christmas is under the heading short films (sorry I got it mixed up).
OK, got it. Yea, I'm not so picky about that, I would say it's fine as a short film. The TV section is mostly TV Series, so I think it would look a bit weird there. But I don't have a strong opinion on it. --Jeff (talk) 12:34, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

My Tom and Jerry video you deleted

Why did you delete my "Tom and Jerry" video? I was using it, until you deleted it! - WolfLink33 04:18, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

It had nothing to do with Pixar. --Jeff (talk) 04:30, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

But I was using it as a personal video of mine! I'm not trying to be mean, but that video was funny. Now I have to upload it all over again! - Drilly Dilly 14:38, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

But it doesn't belong on a Pixar wiki. - RaptorWiki 16:42, October 14, 2010 (UTC)
And why do you have two accounts? - RaptorWiki 16:43, October 14, 2010 (UTC)
This is not a personal website for you to upload all your videos and images. It is a Pixar wiki site, and should only be used for that purpose. And as RaptorWiki pointed out, you have multiple accounts which is against Wiki rules and can lead to you being blocked from the site. --Jeff (talk) 17:25, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

On the Tractors page it has a short paragraph at the start that isn't really related to the ones from Cars. Do you think this needs deleting. Also, in future should I leave questions like this on the candidates for deletion or any other page.

SpaghettiCatfish 12:51, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

If you mean the first line of the page, yea, it was sort of out of place so I removed it. You can leave questions like this on my talk page, but I may not get to it for a while, so a better choice would be to either edit the page (like I did) - if someone doesn't like what you did they can undo your change, or leave a question on the page's discussion/talk page. Since you were not suggesting the entire page should be deleted, it wouldn't be appropriate to leave the question on the candidates for deletion page. Hope that makes sense! Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 13:01, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

HI , i wanted to make a biography of the i-screamer on the CARS TOON page , i made it , and i save it. But can i know when will be my text showed?

Thanks for adding to the page! The problem is that the page currently redirects to Monster Truck Mater. For your text to show up the redirect needs to be removed. I don't know if the minor characters from the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales should have their own pages or not? I've asked this question on Talk:Monster Truck Mater; feel free to add your thoughts on the matter there. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 00:00, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

See 'n Say pictures

Well, I got to work on the See 'n Say page, and I've checked everywhere in Toy Story, but there is no decent shot to be found. It's either blurry, or he's being obscured by something. In this case, I decided to use a picture of the real-life exact toy seen in the movie (I hope it's okay, I tried cleaning it up). But then I remembered the whole replacing image bug, and I think it did the same thing again. So, did that picture come out, or is it just a stretched version of the last picture? -SlashMan 00:18, October 2, 2010 (UTC) SeeNSay

Nevermind, it worked when I re-uploaded it under a different name. You can delete the above image, as well as See.JPG (another old picture). -SlashMan 00:39, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
I deleted See.JPG, but not sure if I can delete SeeNSay. The SeenSay file also shows the SeeNSay image, maybe because it's not noticing the difference in case. I don't want to screw things up so I'll leave it. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 01:00, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, that makes sense, but if you do want to clean up or something, I can just re-upload it. -SlashMan 01:27, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
The real-life image is just very odd. We can't get a screenshot from the movie of anything that isn't fuzzy? - RaptorWiki 11:16, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
What's wrong with the real-life picture? All I did was take out the background to make it a bit cleaner. And I've checked, there's no useable screenshot of See 'n Say in the movie.-SlashMan 20:32, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
There's nothing "wrong" with's just nice to have an image of the actual character from the movie, is all. - RaptorWiki 09:05, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
Like I said, unless there's some promotional renders out there, there's nothing usable from the film, unless it's blurry or distorted. At least that's the exact model used in the film. -SlashMan 19:54, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
I was the person who did See.JPG. I wanted to find a pic that wasn't blurry. What was wrong with mine? Was it too big? I would like the movie instead of real life. Gameboyz829 21:55, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
The resizing was off, and it got distorted. Plus, in most scenes like that one, See 'n Say is behind a bunch of other toys, and its hard to make out. On the subject of blurry pictures, though, I think the picture thumbnails should be smaller, as that would benefit a lot of pages with less-than-adequate pictures. -SlashMan 01:58, October 6, 2010 (UTC)
I'm gonna try to find another pic. Gameboyz829 02:13, October 6, 2010 (UTC)
I ALMOST got a picture of See N Say. Mr. Mic was blocking him though. Gameboyz829 02:16, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

Frank Welker as RC?

Hey Jeff do you think it's possible for any human being to make the sounds of RC. I know Frank Welker is amazing at voice acting and doing animal sounds, but do you think he could make the sounds of RC. RC just makes beep and Remote Control Car sounds. ---PixarFan 23:37, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, I don't know. I see on his page that he did these voices but it's all un-credited. Those must be cited from official sources such as Frank's own web page, Lee's Twitter feed, something on the Pixar site, etc. I would recommend using the cite template and give people a week or so to add them. If they're not added then I would remove the content. --Jeff (talk) 00:31, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for finishing off the editing of those pages by removing that "Reformed" category. As you probably saw, I was having some trouble with the Wiki this morning in Firefox. Everything was jumbled on my screen and I didn't have enough time before leaving for work to fix those pages. Thanks! - RaptorWiki 17:15, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I was having issues this morning too with Chrome. Actually, I had some problems with it last night at home, but I restarted Chrome and it seemed to fix itself.
I've been trying to move from Firefox to Chrome. Not that I dislike FF, it has a lot of plug-ins and behavior that I like. But Chrome is faster and I've been using some of the Google tools (like Google Voice) so I've been using it lately. Later! --Jeff (talk) 17:27, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

animated statistical tutorial

Thank you. I have this idea that creating learning tutorial would be something different in an area that often is so misunderstood. I am a graduate student and have had experience in the statistic courses. What I have found about learning this type of study for some has presented them with such difficulty in gasping concepts. I thought that visual effects in animation would be a fun way to present this learning experience. Well, I thought about how would that work i.e. representing statistical characters in animation. Of course, the technical part was beyond my expertise. So I began reading books. I even purchased a graphic table i.e. Wacom. I would like to continue with this idea and someday create a finish project. I am new to this wiki and hope that I can learn from others' experience.

Toy Story 1

Why did you delete the Toy Story 1 article? It was a nice redirect, right? - WolfLink33 01:27, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Because it was never known as Toy Story 1. I don't imagine anyone would ever search for it by that title. And if you search for that title, Toy Story is the first result returned. --Jeff (talk) 01:56, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Can you delete Mr. H article?

Dvcnut, Can you delete an article called Mr. H.

ZurgBot14 22:12, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Done. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 00:10, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
ZurgBot14 00:37, September 27, 2010 (UTC) Who's Mr. H?

Pic on articles

How do you upload a pic you took from your digital camera and get it on this wiki? I have no idea.

I can't tell you how to get the picture from your camera onto the wiki since I don't know anything about your setup. The first step will be to get the picture off the camera and onto your PC - you should have the software, cables, etc that came with the camera for that. Once you get it on your PC, then you can use the Upload page to bring it to the wiki. Good luck! --Jeff (talk) 00:04, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Mario games

Have you played any Mario games since the SNES? - WolfLink33 14:47, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

No, I don't.

Cars Toons Characters

Hi Jeff. I just went on to the shorts characters page and noticed that above all the actual short characters there is a link that lets you see all the Cars Toons characters. The problem with that is the Cars Toons characters are already listed with the shorts characters. Instead of listing them with the shorts characters I think we should just give them their own page since Cars Toons is really a T.V. show anyway. Do you agree? SpaghettiCatfish 16:17, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

It looks like some (all?) of the Cars Toons characters have both the Cars Toons Characters and Shorts Characters categories. So I think all someone needs to do is remove the Shorts Characters category from those characters. That way they will only show up on the Cars Toons Characters category.
Whether these characters need their own pages, I don't know. I don't watch this series so don't know if they warrant their own pages. You could get others feedback to see what others think. --Jeff (talk) 23:50, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. SpaghettiCatfish 08:05, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
P.S. If you wanted to watch the series you can go on to the official Cars Toons channel on YouTube.

T template

Why didn't the default user create the T template? The default user shoyld always create the T template on every wikia, and why do you have to login to edit this wiki? WolfLink33 15:26, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know why. I don't even know what the T template is, do you? I just know when it was created it caused all sorts of problems. --Jeff (talk) 23:42, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I know what it is, but it's because I didn't create the t/piece template. Duh!!! - WolfLink33 14:42, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know why that template wasn't originally created. If you want, you can create it and we can see if it works better this time. Or I can ask Toughpigs or Scarecroe about it.
As for logging in to edit, originally it was decided not to allow anonymous edits on this wiki. Personally I like it that way. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 15:22, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

Character Toy Template

Hey Jeff I wanted to know, what do you think of the new character template for toys that I tested on the Sandbox? I think it could work really well. Well, that's my opinion. What do you think? You can say no, it's alright. ---PixarFan 07:29, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'm looking at the sandbox version, it looks pretty similar to the existing category. There's been some edits since your last edit, are you ok with those? I like the bolding of the titles (Appeared in, etc), and the addition of Type of toy. I may be missing some other formatting changes? I think we could give it a try and see what happens - we could give it a new, temporary name (like character template 2) and move some characters over, see how they look and what others think. --Jeff (talk) 18:22, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not ok with the edit's after mine, but I edited it again and added a lot more new templates. There's lot's of possibilities with these new templates such as: Type of Monster, Superpower, etc. I'm not done but tell me what you think. ---PixarFan 22:55, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I think there are good possibilities. You could also add strength level to the superpower category. Like I said, if you want to start with one of them and move a few characters over that would be cool. You could start with either the monster or super power category and we can see how it goes. --Jeff (talk) 23:55, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Talk:John Carter of Mars

Hey Jeff, can you please check out the John Carter of Mars talk page? Thanks. ---PixarFan 07:39, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

OK, I added my $0.02 worth. --Jeff (talk) 17:58, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Category:Toy Story 3 Characters

Hey Jeff I don't know if you noticed but, for some reason you're under the Toy Story 3 Characters Category and I can't take it off. ---PixarFan 07:39, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

OK, fixed. problem was that I had the category in this page without surrounding it with nowiki. --Jeff (talk) 17:53, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Stub template

Well, I tested the stub template on a page and it seemed to work. So why did the Toughpigs user delete it? - WolfLink33 23:14, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

Toughpigs did explain this. Yes, the template would work. The point is, at least on this wiki, we don't want to use the stub template because it doesn't really serve much purpose. The idea of a wiki is to continue to grow and expand. In essence, it is never done and will always need new content. Therefore, a stub template is superfluous, and maybe redundant. I hope this explains it. --Jeff (talk) 00:13, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Jeff, how come when I put "Template:Stub" at the top of an article, how come it does not work. It works on other wikis, but not on this here wiki. Is-- is somethin' wrong? -- TheSitcomLover 10:20, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

Did you read the paragraph directly above what you just wrote? It explains why we don't use a stub template. Along the same lines, I really dislike the InDev template, and why you should stop adding "Please don't change." to pages you create/edit. The point of a wiki is to grow and expand. We will add information today, and others will come by tomorrow, next month, or next year and add even more information. A (useful) wiki will continue to grow and evolve, and no page should ever be considered done, perfect, or not in development. Look at the changes made just today - I count pages from at least 6 different movies were edited/created. Hmm, I think I'll go and make the InDev template a candidate for deletion. --Jeff (talk) 00:57, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, okay. Thanks, Jeff! -- TheSitcomLover 6:32, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Conjecture template

Why did you delete the conjecture template? WolfLink33 20:45, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

We try to only include official information on this wiki, not conjecture, rumors, etc. Therefore we don't need a conjecture category. Hey, also please don't create pages that have nothing to do with Pixar (like Tom and Jerry). Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 00:31, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Everytime I try to replace an image with a new one, it only changes the dimensions, but keeps the previous image, do you know why? Also, I'm trying to make a new character template on the sandbox page. -SlashMan 00:08, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Not sure why that would happen. It could just be your browser - you could try doing a hard refresh - hold down the shift and then click the refresh button. Or you may need to clear your cache. I can also try something to see what happens. What page and image are you working on?
As for the template, what kind of issues are you running into? --Jeff (talk) 00:46, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it didn't work. I tried uploading a new picture of Sid, but it's still stretched, and didn't even accept the new picture. Does it work for you?
Anyways, there's no problem with the new template, I'm just informing you because the page is locked. Here's what I did so far: Sandbox#Infobox character
Pictures are smaller, because there have been complains about some being stretched, a page title has been added, and I've tried out a first/last appearance thing. Tell me what you think, and suggestions on categories to add as well. Thanks, SlashMan 01:19, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
Where did you get the original image - do you have a URL? I'd like to try downloading it to my PC and then upload it myself and see what happens. I don't know why it would get stretched like that.
The template looks good. It may have limited usability since many characters only have a single appearance (although with the number of sequels coming out that will change). I don't think you need to add any categories, since categories will be dependent on the character. Maybe I don't understand the question on categories? Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 03:38, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
Here's a link:

The categories thing was just for more basic information out of a character on the infobox. Come to think of it, there could be one for spouses, but that would be extremely limited. I guess there could also be a friends category. -SlashMan 03:59, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, that's weird. I get the same behavior you do, strange. I guess the way to fix it would be to upload it with a different name (like sid1.jpg) and link to that. I'm pretty sure that would fix it. --Jeff (talk) 15:46, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

I've been going on the South Park Archives Wiki a bit lately and found that they have an achievments system. I thought that was pretty cool and was wondering if there was any chance of Pixar Wiki getting one soon?

SpaghettiCatfish 08:11, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not familiar with Achievements (in the wiki-sense). Can you tell me more about it? --Jeff (talk) 23:50, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry. I found out that there actually called badges. You get them for completing things such as making a certain amount of edits or adding a picture to a page. A picture related to that will then show up on your user page.
OK, I'm familiar with badges. Yes, those would be cool. I'm not sure how we get them on the wiki but I can ask one of the more knowledgeable sysops about it. Great idea, thanks! --Jeff (talk) 12:19, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Why did you delete the Mario page? - WolfLink33 03:20, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

What does Mario have to do with Pixar? --Jeff (talk) 10:59, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

Just curious at your summary of the page edit on Red's page. It said "Do Not update "appears" for cameos"

Rileyl 23:31, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

What I meant is that I don't think it's worth updating the "Appears" field (in the character template) when a character just makes a cameo in a film. For instance, Red may be the play fire truck seen in Toy Story 3. There is no official confirmation that it is him. And even if it was, since it's just a cameo and not the real Red from Cars, it shouldn't be listed in the Appears field. Along the same vein, we shouldn't add to its page. Rather, it should be mentioned in the trivia section. I hope that makes sense, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 12:26, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Toys Story 3 DVD Release Date

Is November 2 the American release date for Toy Story 3?

SpaghettiCatfish 09:14, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Yes. --Jeff (talk) 02:43, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Character Template

I've been thinking, the character template looks a bit plain on some pages, especially those with one, non-speaking appearance. Any idea of things that could be added? I'm thinking of a title at the top of it, also dates for the movies would help a little. Also, do you agree that the appearances should be reserved for shorts and movies? -SlashMan 02:26, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, I think this will take some deliberation. Do you have some examples of pages that really stick out (in this case, I mean don't stick out and are plain :)? And that's a good question about the use of appearances. Are you thinking it shouldn't be used for TV specials, for instance? What about characters that only show up in a TV show?
If you have some ideas you'd like to try out, feel free to use the Sandbox to try them out and get feedback. --Jeff (talk) 02:58, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Untitled Toy Story Short

Hi, I was just wondering about the untitled Toy Story short that is supposed to be coming out with Cars 2. Are they going to have the Toy Story short with an original short or is it just going to be by itself?

I've seen no other information regarding the short film so can't really answer your questions. My guess is that the Toy Story short will be the only short attached to Cars 2. I don't know what you mean by "original short"? All Pixar short films are originals. Let me know if you still have questions! --Jeff (talk) 17:27, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks SpaghettiCatfish 23:07, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

Toy Story (PEZ)

Hey Jeff. Ok, so the reason I put the delete tag on the Toy Story (PEZ) page was because after that, I put the exact same thing on the PEZ Candy, Inc. page. I put alot of work into the PEZ Candy, Inc. page. I'm trying to put all the rest of the Pixar Pez lines in that page, but it's hard to get the information. You know information such as: retired dispensers and dispensers that were in other Pez lines, etc. If that makes sense. So, do you understand now? And if you're wondering, yes I'm a Pez fan, a huge one. Respond. ---PixarFan 12:42, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

OK, that makes sense. I didn't see the PEZ Candy page. I'll delete the Toy Story PEZ page. Thanks!! --Jeff (talk) 01:42, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed that Pixar enjoys adding fictional companies in their films. Everyone knows the big ones like Buy n Large and Dinoco but I also enjoy finding the smaller ones like Virtual Realty and Eggman Movers. Is there any plans for a page to access all of them?

No, there are no plans, but that might be a good page to have. Another way would be just to make sure those external sites are on their associated film pages (i.e. Virtual Realty and Eggman Movies on Toy Story). I don't know how many of these sites there are, so am not sure if we need a dedicated page to them? Great question!! --Jeff (talk) 12:23, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
How about make a category for them? Or would that be another useless category? Thoughts? - RaptorWiki 16:42, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
You could have a category but then must have pages that include that category. So if a film page includes the external link, you could include the new category on that page. I'm not sure I like that much since each film may only have 1 or 2 external links. Rather than that route, I'd probably create a page with all the external links, then use the related film culture categories on that page. But I'm open to suggestions. --Jeff (talk) 01:46, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
Which external links are you referring to, for example? - RaptorWiki 09:22, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

Knick the Snowman in Cars?

I love looking for easter eggs in Pixar films. When I was looking at the Knick Knack and Cars pages, it says that Knick is in a snowglobe in Lizzie's shop. I've seen the snowglobe scene but it was the snowglobe from Knick Knack. Am I looking in the right place?

Yes. Knick is the snowman inside the globe. I don't remember if in Cars only the snow globe is in the scene, or if the globe has Knick inside it. But yes, that's the correct scene. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 11:09, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Jeff, I'm not sure if you can do it, but if you could, can you edit the Template:Delete page so that it can't be edited anymore? People keep editing to say not spam, but useless content. I just reverted it to right, original version it's supposed to be when you edited it. Respond! ---PixarFan 11:16, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

I'll keep my eye on it. But actually, I liked the last change (before you reverted it) and put it back - it's a convenient way to add a reason for why the page should be deleted. I think it's a good idea that people provide some reason for deleting a page. Let me know what you think.
I also removed the delete tag on the Toy Story (PEZ) page. It's Toy Story merchandise, so why shouldn't it exist? I don't think we need individual pages for each PEZ but one page is fine. Thoughts? --Jeff (talk) 03:47, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

How do I become an administrator

You should talk to one of the sysop staff like User:Scarecroe or User:Toughpigs. A good start is to just start spending time on the wiki adding content, cleaning things up, etc. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 19:03, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Deleted Categories

Hey Jeff, I was really wondering, do you know why Category:Bonnie's Toys and Category:Dogs were deleted? They were both good categories. I can probably understand "Bonnie's Toys" because everybody would know who Bonnie's Toys are. But the "Dogs" category, that was a really good one. It points out who, out of every Pixar movie, was a dog. I really think at least the "Dogs" category should be be brought back. ---PixarFan 10:01, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

I just don't see much reason for a category for Bonnie's toys, especially since many of Andy's toys went to her. As for the dogs category, wouldn't most people know which characters are dogs? And how will the category be used? Will people go to that category and then navigate to the character pages from it? It seems like it could lead to strange behavior, like needing an animals category, a fish category, a human category (and why not boys and girls categories), etc. But, this isn't my wiki. If there is good reason for a dogs category and other people like it, then we should have it. You can re-create the category and get others feedback and see what happens. --Jeff (talk) 20:42, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
I agree that both of those categories are definitely not needed. If a dogs category exists, why not cats? Or dinosaurs? Or Birds? There's really no reason for any of those. - RaptorWiki 13:24, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

Monsters, Inc. 2 release date and Voice Actors

Hey Jeff where did you get that information that Monsters, Inc. 2 has been moved forward to November 2, 2012? Also there's no proof that John Ratzenberger will be in Monsters, Inc. 2 but John is in every single Pixar film so shouldn't we have just him in the "Voice Cast" section saying he'll be playing the Yeti or a new character?

The release date info came from a number of different Pixar blogs, which in turn came from Box Office Mojo. I think I'll update the MI2 page with this reference.
As for the voice cast, there's been no confirmation of anyone returning. It would seem obvious that certain characters like Mike and Sully will return, and also having John somewhere in the movie. But until it's official I don't think we should mention it. It will just lead to the issues we had prior to Toy Story 3 being released with constant additions and removals happening in the voice cast. --Jeff (talk) 12:16, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

Toy Story Collection

Do you have any plan on how to organize the Toy Story Collection? I think it's notable enough for one article, but having 14 individual pages with a picture and paragraph for each just doesn't look right to me. I personally like the way the Cars Die-Cast Line was organized.SlashMan 21:15, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

No, I don't have any plans for it. I'm open to suggestions! You might be right, I'm not sure if each character needs its own page. But I don't understand your comment about the Cars Die-Cast Line - each of those characters have their own page? And many of them only have a paragraph or so. Or, another idea is to add a sub-section to the "real" character page (i.e. Woody for Woody the Sheriff (Toy Story Collection)), then have Toy Story Collection be a list of all the characters, plus maybe a link to each image. This is similar to how the Cars Die-Cast line is done. What do you think? --Jeff (talk) 02:33, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, maybe I just read into it wrong, but I think there should just be a single entree for each toy, seperated by the waves they were released in.-SlashMan 03:28, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

I noticed a lot of pages in Category:Candidates for deletion. Also FlowerLover9099 and Kinkyman look like sockpuppets of Anthony9, Angrywolf99, Diamondboy, Shorthair, Coolman099, Anthonythecameraguy, and Tonyspaphoney. Many of these accounts are also on Wikipedia, or something simliar, like instead of Anthony9 there's AnthonyA99. All tagged as socks of the banned Onelifefreak2007. So I think he should be banned here too. Toy story fan 01:20, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I saw this person's contributions and was wondering the same thing. I haven't checked the validity of the changes, like Charlie Adler. If you know for a fact this is false please let me know. But for now I don't see anything that would make me block them. Why I want to Delete User:GonzoFan

The reason why I want to delete the User:GonzoFan is because that was my old account name. I didn't like how the name looked on this wiki. The name Gonzo is from the Muppets and I used to go on Muppet Wiki alot but I don't go on as much. I'm being completely honest. I can prove it too. If you want me to I can log onto GonzoFan right now and tell you it's me. Just tell me and I'll do it. Again, I'm being completely honest. ---PixarFan 12:19, July 8, 2010 (UTC)PixarFan

OK, that sounds good. Don't worry, I believe you! I'll delete it shortly. --Jeff (talk) 22:51, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Text Revision in Toy Story 2/ Emporor Zurg summary....

I left the "Field of Dreams" reference in the above wiki page and would like to request that the blue font color be used to highlight and/or possibly link to other references for the following words: Kevin Costner, Ray Kinsella, Field of Dreams.

Thank you in advance,

Sid Phillips 06:06, July 7, 2010 (UTC)Sid Phillips

Note, the blue highlight are for links. To create a Wiki link put and around the word(s) you want to be the new page. For instance, to create a link for Toy Story it would look like Toy Story in the editor and Toy Story on the actual page. You can find help on links and editing in the left column while editing a page. You can also try editing on the Sandbox page.
But as for the terms you're asking about (Field of Dreams, Ray Kinsella) I would NOT make those into wiki links. They have nothing to do with Pixar or any of their films so wouldn't have their own pages. They are just observations. In fact, some people might consider that information to not be appropriate for this wiki, as we try to only record official information, so you may see it disappear at some point. This kind of information might be better suited for your Blog or talk page.
Thanks for participating here, and let me know if you have any other questions! --Jeff (talk) 01:54, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Poop is funny

If you get this please block this person on here, because all he's doing is removing content from articles and replacing them with the word "poop". Really immature and annoying to deal with. Nick102 09:12, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

Page moving

Should you or i move Pizza Planet truck to "Pizza Planet Delivery Shuttle"?, because that's what it says on the sides of it.

Robertbobbobby 00:19, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think we should move it. I've never heard it called that, it is more commonly referred to (and known) as just the pizza planet truck. You could create a redirect page for Pizza Planet Delivery Shuttle to Pizza Planet truck. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 02:04, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
Sure. If you look on the doors of the Toy Story ones, it says Shuttle.

Toy Story 3 Presskit

Hey Dvcnut, could you send me that TS3 presskit by email? My email is

Tin Toy characters

The toys that Tinny meets in Tin Toy should probably be covered. In a new preview for Toy Story 3 (no spoilers), it shows that Billy's toys were donated here (minus Tinny), and hide together like they did before to avoid the toddlers. Should I given them all one page as 'Billy's toys,' or something like that? They all do have names (from Tin Toy credits), but the biography would be identical otherwise.

I think I'm also gonna leave this Wiki for now unless a spoiler system is formulated. -SlashMan 02:07, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I think one page for all of them would be sufficient. You're right, since their descriptions would all be similar there's no reason for separate pages.
It's been hard keeping all the TS3 spoilers out. If it's not the Toy Story 3 page, then something sneaks up in one of the character pages. For a long time I had to quit looking at the TS3 page because I didn't want to get spoiled. I've also been busy and haven't been able to spend much time here. Fortunately we're only a couple weeks away from the release! If you do leave, make sure you come back, you do a great job! --Jeff (talk) 14:14, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Other Toy Story shorts

Where should I put a section for other Toy Story shorts? Believe it or not, there's actually quite a bit that don't fit in the current series, like Buzz Lightyear of Star Command intros, trailers, and commercials (like the exclusive McDonald's commercial). -SlashMan 23:47, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

I don't have a good answer - I'm not familiar with these. Do you think each of these should have their own individual page? Are they all related to Buzz Lightyear of Star Command? If so, you could create a page (or pages) and use the Category:Buzz Lightyear of Star Command category for them? Or we could create a Toy Story Shorts category and relate the pages to that? --Jeff (talk) 12:33, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
No, I'm talking about assorted Toy Story shorts in general. There's no connection between them, except for the fact that it's Toy Story. -SlashMan 21:13, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I still don't have a strong opinion yet. If you think there's enough material that we would have multiple pages (one per short?), then we could go that way and create a Toy Story Shorts category to organize them all. If there are just going to be a few pages then wouldn't need a new category, we could just use Category:Toy Story and Category:Shorts, or maybe Category:Toy Story Culture? Sorry I'm not being helpful, I can see a lot of options, just not sure on a solution! Maybe the way to start is with one or two pages and see how it goes. We can create categories later, if needed. --Jeff (talk) 01:04, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Are these Toy Story shorts from all different media titles and types? - RaptorWiki 00:35, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
I think so. I think the McDonald's commercial that has unique footage, for example, is worthy of coverage, but I'm not sure it has enough substance for a whole page. Other things are the trailers that have footage that was never used, as well as the new Toy Story 3 shorts (which only serve as promotion). -SlashMan 02:03, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Toy Story Deleted Scenes

How does it look on the trivia page? Also, all the information has been moved, so you can delete the original page. -SlashMan 20:53, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

I like it! I think it works well on the trivia page. I went ahead and deleted the deleted scenes page.
If you ever want to expand on it, you could add the reason the scene was deleted - some scenes look like they'd be great so it's fun to hear their reasons. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 23:50, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

can i put in video game articles?

is it ok if i put in video game articles?Mariomario678910 12:52, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it should be fine if you add some pages on video games. Note, they should only contain factual information, right? Not opinions or impressions of the game. There already are a number of video game pages, feel free to add to them. Also remember, please don't just copy the information from a manufacturer's website. I'd recommend starting with one or two, and some stuff to them and see how it goes. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 14:14, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

there is more than 1 cars video game the other 2 cars games: cars:mater-national cars race o ramaMariomario678910 00:24, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

OK, looks like you've got a good start. I renamed them to Cars Mater-National and Cars Race-O-Rama. You'll probably want to make the names into wiki links so people can link to the characters like Lightning McQueen and Mater. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 01:11, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

i am not good at turning things like lightning mcqueen into a link wait the linkMariomario678910 19:59, April 20, 2010 (UTC) can you make the links for meMariomario678910 20:04, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

I went ahead and created wiki links for the characters on Cars Mater-National. When you edit that page you can see what I did to create the links. It's not too hard once you get use to the editor and the wiki markup language. Note that wiki links by convention start with a capital letter. Also notice when you're editing a page the left-hand column will give you some editing tips that show how to construct links, add headings, etc. You can also check out Help:Contents for more help information. One thing I still do is look at existing pages (via Edit) to see how someone created a page or made some interesting edits. Just make sure not to do a "Save page" - hit the Cancel link to get out of Edit.
Note, I also renamed Cars:race o rama to Cars Race-O-Rama. I deleted Cars:race o rama so please start using Cars Race-O-Rama. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 02:02, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Custom skin is live

Thanks for the feedback. The issue with the Edit tab on user pages was a piece of code from the old skin. Since you liked the skin I showed you, I just set it as the wiki's default skin (so you can delete User:Dvcnut/monaco.css), and the Edit tab problem is fixed. Let me know if you see anything else that looks wrong. Cheers. JoePlay@fandom (talk) 19:20, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

Custom skin

Hi Jeff. We at Wikia want to give the Pixar Wiki a custom skin help it stand out a bit from other wikis. Since the color blue seems to work well here, I was thinking that this skin template I recently designed would look good. What do you think? If you'd like to take it for a test drive, copy the code below and paste it to User:Dvcnut/monaco.css:

@import "";

NOTE: You'll need to hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) after you save in order to see it. When you get a chance, please leave a message on my talk page with your thoughts. Thanks. JoePlay@fandom (talk) 20:15, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

If using that @import code didn't work (that method may not work anymore), you can just copy/paste all the code from my personal css page to yours. I guarantee that will work. Please reply after you've decided one way or the other so that I can mark Pixar as "accepted" or "declined" on my list of wikis to visit. JoePlay@fandom (talk) 00:58, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Cars Trivia: Wheres Wall-E?

Well Jeff I don't really know whats the mark in the movie, cause I don't know where it is,but where Wall-E could be seen in Cars is somewhere in the beginning, when Lightning McQueen goes to the pit stop, to go get gas. Right when Lightning McQueen stops you can see him rolling by, it not to quick and can be spotted easily, but obviously Cars was made before Wall-E so people just thought it was a pit crew car rolling by.-Sarge501090(talk)

Why did you delete him?

It was probably a mistake to delete the page. To be honest, it wasn't put together too well - there was no character template or categories so I just removed it. I have restored it and cleaned it up. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 18:52, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
